HANDLE LOCK DETAIL

redbullet1  A latching devise on a patio door should do  more than just latch which is precisely why the Mortise lock is designed as it is.  As you pull the handle down to secure the sliding panel in a closed position the lock reaches out...then  up...and then back slightly-the same way you'd reach out and grab and squeeze with your fist to get a tight, firm grip on an object.

Both the locking mechanism in the panel and the keeper in  the frame are screwed into metal reinforced sections.  Not only is it one of the most innovative designs yet conceived for pulling the sliding panel snugly up against the frame, it's also far more  secure and far more weathertight than virtually any other patio door on the market today.
